Established in 1896, Waimea Old Boys RFC is a community oriented rugby club that has a strong reputation in the Tasman region, along with a record of achievement the club is proud of. To support the club in achieving its short, medium and long-term objectives, we are looking to appoint the following critical role:

Our club has an exciting opportunity for a suitably skilled person to join the club in a paid, full or part-time capacity. Reporting to the Board Chairperson, the Director of Rugby will be pivotal in driving the club’s future initiatives around player recruitment, retention, coach development and community collaboration. We believe in a ‘bottom up’ approach to player strength at a senior level and so junior rugby development is critical; as is the continued establishment of our club culture.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Background in rugby from grassroots to a high-performance level.
The ability to build on relationships with stakeholders including sponsors, coaches, TRU, community groups etc.
The ability to engage with players and coaches from junior club right through to senior men and women’s levels.
The capability to manage/measure coach and player performance.
Community minded and able to understand, adopt, and communicate the Waimea Old Boys Vision, Purpose, and Values.
